St Matthew's Netball Club
Meet the St Matthew's Committee
Club President
David Hood
David is a long-time resident of the Hills District who became involved in St Matthew's Netball Club when his eldest daughter joined the club as a Junior in 2016. David's other daughter plays for Northmead Uniting Netball Club. David is also the manager/co-coach for his son's Baulkham Hills Football Club team and the current BHFC Member Protection and Integrity Officer.

David has had long-term involvement with Baulkham Hills North PS P&C, was secretary for 2022, and is also one of the school-accredited event photographers and creates the risk assessments for P&C activities. He is also involved in Muirfield High School P&C.
Club Secretary
Helen Olley
Helen has been involved in the club for 25+ years after being asked to join a friend’s team in 1996. She has been part of the St Matt’s and GRNA Committees as Secretary for the last 7 years. Helen’s 3 daughters followed in her footsteps joining St Matt’s starting in FunNet, then progressing into the team competition all the way up to the Opens division. Helen and her family have loved the social, non-competitive, non-graded nature of the GRNA competition.
Helen does not have a favourite netball team but enjoys watching any games with the Sydney Swifts or Giants. She also loves spending time with her family, particularly her 2 young grandsons.
Community Engagement Officer
Verity
Verity joined St Matt's in 2023 in an Opens team with close friends. She has previously played competitive netball in the Kellyville competition, transitioning to St Matt's for a more friendly and social game. In 2023, Verity was awarded Senior Umpire of the Year and joins GRNA in 2024 as a Co-Umpire Conveyor.

With a passion for social media and an eye for design, you will see Verity darting around the courts on a Saturday for the best shots and interviews with the St Matt's players. Verity plays GS and GA and loves a little run around in the Wings as well!
Web Master
Lena
Lena has been part of St Matthew's Netball Club for 2 years, cheering on her daughter as she plays with the Tigers. With a background in software solutions, Lena is eager to help the club enhance its information security. When Lena is not on the sidelines, she enjoys spending time with her 5 crazy dogs.

While her heart belongs to St Matt's, she can't help but have a soft spot for the Giants and definitely misses seeing Jo Harten in action on the court.
Equipment Officer
Kelly
Kelly returns to the St Matthew's Netball Club Comittee in 2024 as an Equipment Officer, she is your go-to woman for all things netballs, bibs, and kits. Kelly began playing netball at the age of 8, with her favourite positions being GA, GS, and WA.

Kelly also has experience coaching in her early twenties, including school PPSA teams. She joined St Matthew's following her oldest daughter starting in Fun Net in 2019.
